Description
It's never too soon to start thinking about Christmas with Fuchsia 'Sleigh Bells' in the garden. The tube, sepals and corolla of this fuchsia are all as white as snow! This fuchsia has an upright, bushy yet trailing habit. Reaches approximately 2 feet (60 cm) tall.
Bred by Clement Schnabel, USA in 1954 and was previously call Rink of Skaters at the Bois de Boulogne.
- Plant out from late May all through the summer.
- Hardy once established.
- Suitable for potting on or, dependent on time of year, planting straight into the garden.
- Late autumn garden planting should be avoided as the plants will not have time to establish before the winter.
- If grown in containers and left outside all winter they may not prove fully hardy as container growing does not afford the same level of root protection as growing in the ground.
- In severe winters additional protection may be required for plants in the ground or left outside in containers. We suggest covering the plant with straw then inverting a large pot or bucket over it to provide further protection.
