Description
Fuchsia Cardinal Farges has small, delicate, semi-double flowers. The tube and sepals are pale cerise while the corolla is white lightly veined with pale cerise. Coupled with a vigorous, upright, self-branching habit, this is sure to be a winner in the garden. Reaches a height of 12 - 18" (45 - 60 cm).
Bred by Bernhard Rawlins, UK and registered in 1958. Only one of the parents of this variety is known, Sport Abbe Farges.
- Plant out from late May all through the summer.
- Hardy once established.
- Suitable for potting on or, dependent on time of year, planting straight into the garden.
- Late autumn garden planting should be avoided as the plants will not have time to establish before the winter.
- If grown in containers and left outside all winter they may not prove fully hardy as container growing does not afford the same level of root protection as growing in the ground.
