The tube and sepals are a rich cerise while the corolla is a rich dark purple.Upright and vigorous with a bush habit, this fuchsia is very free flowering and reaches a height of 24" (60 cm). It will make a good standard. Officially it is classified as a 'single' type of flower however the purple centre has red veined petals. that flare slightly.
Brutus was bred in 1897 in Nancy, France by Victor Lemoine.
- Plant out from late May all through the summer.
- Hardy once established.
- Suitable for potting on or, dependent on time of year, planting straight into the garden.
- Late autumn garden planting should be avoided as the plants will not have time to establish before the winter.
- If grown in containers and left outside all winter they may not prove fully hardy as container growing does not afford the same level of root protection as growing in the ground.
