Description
A vivid dark blue/violet double flower with yellow stamens, such a stunning contrast with green fern like foliage which forms in a bush, whilst being a short lived perennial, it will self seed and makes for a delightful cut flower.
Also known as Grandmas Bonnets or aquilegia and thought to be ignored by deer and rabbits but enjoyed by pollinating insects.
- Hardy, short lived perennial (will self seed).
- Reaches 24-36" (60 - 90 cm) tall by 16" (40 cm) wide.
- Likes a full sun/partial shade position.
- Needs a moist but well drained soil.
- Flowers late Spring to early Summer.
- Makes a good cut flower.
