Description

Just like its red counterpart, Hinnonmaki Yellow originates from Finland and so has excellent Winter hardiness making this an easy variety to grow, though the habit of the plant is slightly more lax than the red and so will benefit from some support.

Cropping is excellent with the yellow fruits being medium to large in size. Gorgeously sweet and aromatic, they are flavoured with a slight hint of apricot. These gooseberries are sweet enough to eat straight from the bush, but similarly are great to cook with for pies, crumbles or jams.

• Harvest from July.
• Reaches approximately 3 - 4 feet tall (1.2 metres) tall.
• In bush form 'Hinnonmaki Yellow' is best planted 5 x 5 feet (1.5 x 1.5 metres) apart and kept at around 3 - 4 feet (90 - 120 cm) tall.
• Mildew resistant.
• Likes a full sun or part shade position.
• Requires free draining soil.
• Very hardy.
• Self Fertile.
