Our vegetable plants offer a great kick-start to your growing season, for kitchen gardens, school gardening clubs, allotment and more.
Our British-grown vegetable plants are chosen based on their taste and growing characteristics, and will only be dispatched once they have been fully hardened off and are ready to grow on at home.
If you really like to know where the food that you eat comes from, then you'll be pleased to know that our vegetable plants are produced from the very seeds that we sell! We not only know the provenance of our plants and vegetable seeds, but every vegetable plant we list on the website we actually grow and eat ourselves. This means that we can offer you, our customer, the finest selection of vegetable plants based on flavour and growing characteristics that are best suited to home growing.
The best flavours and greatest growing success can only be achieved when our vegetable plants are grown in season. Every vegetable plant that we offer is grown in our British nursery's vegetable production area, and no matter where we are in the growing calendar, you can guarantee that the plants you purchase will only be dispatched once they have been fully hardened off. This ensures a much higher chance of success, as the vegetable plants will only be available once the time is right to grow them at home.
You might be interested to learn that here at the nursery, we actually have two vegetable gardens. The Display Vegetable Garden is cared for by Mark and Dan and can be viewed by anyone who visits the nursery.
And Victoriana's own Molly and Milly Shirley tend their private 'Girls' Garden', along with parents Serena and Stephen.
Over the years, these two gardens have contributed to our depth of experience and knowledge on vegetable growing that we can pass on to our customers - from allotment growing to family gardening.
Hop Plant 'Fuggle'
One of the oldest hop varieties available, dating back to 1875. Produces a large cone. Suitable for British bitters and pale ales. Good resistance to downy mildew.

Horseradish Plant
The English favourite! Harvest roots in the Winter to make your own Horseradish sauce. The later it is harvested the hotter it will be!

Rhubarb Plant 'Champagne'
One of the earliest varieties and recognised as one of the best for forcing. Slender pink stems are juicy and sweet. A heritage variety that is reliable and easy to grow.

Tamarillo Tree Tomato Plant
A perennial tomato with ruby red egg shaped fruits that are produced in late autumn and winter. Requires frost protection. Can be eaten raw, stewed or made in to jams and jellies.

Artichoke Plant 'Green Globe'
A reliable hardy, heritage variety of Globe Artichoke. Perennial in habit it will produce fine quality globes that can be harvested small or large.

The traditional artichoke with a twist! Produces eye catching purple-tinted globes. Heads are tight and firm. A highly ornamental plant in its own right.

A fairly new variety of Asparagus from New Zealand. One of the highest yielding purple types. Spears have a very high sugar content. Good resistance to Fusarium.

Cardoon Plant 'Bianco Avorio'
A pretty vegetable widely cultivated in Victorian England and now enjoying a resurgence of popularity. It is related to the Globe Artichoke but it is the stem rather than the flower that is eaten.

Cauliflower Plant 'Cut 'n' Come Again'
Sometimes known as Nine Star Perennial Broccoli. An excellent multi-headed cauliflower that is perennial in habit. Each plant will produce approximately ten tennis ball-sized heads per year with amazing flavour.

Chilli Pepper Plant 'Ají Limon'
Hot Chilli Pepper. A delicious lemon/citrus flavour hides in this chilli making it a perfect variety to spice and flavour your dishes (works so well with fish).

Chilli Pepper Plant 'Ancho'
Mild Chilli Pepper. Deep red fruit, similar in size and shape to a sweet pepper. Perfect for drying or smoking - or chilli rellenos. Often mistakenly known as Poblano Chilli.

Volcanic Chilli Pepper. An exceptionally hot Chilli Pepper - should be treated with respect. Crinkled fruits mature to a bright red. Gorgeous smoked citrus flavour.

Chilli Pepper Plant 'Christmas Bell'
Medium Chilli Pepper. Highly decorative bell shaped fruits hang in profusion. Sweet and crisp flesh has little heat in the wings, whilst being fiery at the centre.

Medium Hot Chilli Pepper. Green fruits mature to orange-red, and have a 'lively' heat! A Mexican favourite that produces huge crops. If you only grow one chilli, make it this one.
