Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe
Ingredients
- ½ t (¼l) milk.
- 1 pt (½l) cream.
- 1-2 egg yolks.
- 6 oz (170g) caster sugar.
- 1 lb (450g ) strawberries.
- 1 dsp granulated sugar.
- 1 tsp lemon juice.
Method
- Put milk and cream in a saucepan and bring nearly to boiling point.
- Beat together the egg yolks and castor sugar, add to the milk and cream and stir over a low heat until they thicken.
- Pass the strawberries through a sieve, together with the granulated sugar and mix into the custard.
- Add the lemon juice.
- Chill and freeze, mixing occasionally – or use an ice cream-maker.
