Description
This lovely variety of raspberry is a mid season one with a good yield and is spine free. It has a semi erect and clump forming habit, so is a bit more of a bush than a usual raspberry and as a result doesn't spread as much.
It is a cross of black raspberry and Glen Prosen and bred by Dr Derek Jennings at JHL. It has the most stunning dark purple colour and an amazing flavour.
Glen Coe is great for making jams, sauces, wine and eaten straight from the bush.
Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
- Self fertile.
- Floricane variety (so fruits on second year wood).
- Good disease resistance.
- Plant 2 feet (60 cm) apart).
- Space rows 10 feet (3 metres) apart.
- Can reach up to 10 - 13 feet (3 - 4 metres) tall!
- Fruits June to August.
