Description
A scrumptous large, sweet, juicy, white fleshed and red skinned peach which is great for eating, cooking, canning or freezing. The blossom is pink / white. Whilst being a hardy variety of peach, it would benefit from a more sheltered, yet sunny position.
This variety was discovered in Illinois in 1880.
- Self fertile.
- Hardy.
- Ripens mid-August.
- Likes a full sun position.
- Needs well drained soil.
- Usually fruits 2-4 years after planting.
- Grown on St Julien A rootstock for an ultimate height of 12 - 15 feet (3.65 - 4.6 metres) but can easily be kept at a height of 6 - 8 feet (1.8 - 2.4 metres).
