Leaves & Greens Plants

Here you will find a selection of green leaves and green leafy vegetables that we supply as compost block-grown plants directly from our Kent nursery.

These green leafy vegetables are typically high in nutrients including folic acid, calcium, iron and Vitamin A. Not only a fantastic healthy food option, but enjoyed straight from the garden these green leaves and salad plants also offer fabulous flavour and texture. All green leafy vegetables are delivered live, ready for planting and come with a free growing guide.

If you're looking for home-grown produce that's bursting with flavour, packed with nutrients and relatively easy to grow, then you'll find plenty to please you in our selection of green leaves and green leafy vegetables. This category is home to a wide range of versatile leafy vegetables that can be steamed, blanched, fried, pickled, preserved or just enjoyed raw whilst offering a host of nutritional benefits.

Green leaves, especially darker green leafy vegetables, are recommended as a truly healthy option, thanks to the multitude of vitamins and minerals stored within those seemingly innocuous leaves. Folic acid, iron, fibre, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium are just some of the beneficial nutrients that are packed into each green leafy plant. This means that regularly eating portions of green leafy vegetables can help to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, help to bolster the immune system, decrease the risk of cancer and in some cases, lower the risk of diabetes too. These advantages, together with the extra health benefits gained by gardening (itself a form of exercise), make home-grown greens a brilliant option - and a tasty one too!

We have selected many of our green leafy vegetables - including Brussels sprouts, cabbages, green salad leaves and oriental vegetables - for their their flavour characteristics rather than just for their growing performance. This means that all green leafy vegetable plants supplied directly from our Kent nursery represent some of the most flavoursome and succulent specimens from this broad range of vegetables.

Our green leaves and green leafy vegetable plants are supplied as compost block-grown plants. As they are supplied as live plants, once received your order will need to be planted into containers or prepared open ground as soon as possible so that the roots can quickly establish themselves and the plants can receive nutrients to continue their healthy, vigorous growth. We supply a free growing guide with each order to ensure that you are able to provide the right growing conditions for a successful harvest.
