Kohl Rabi Seeds

Kohl Rabi, or little space ships as we refer to them, originated in Northern Europe in the mid 1900s. It's name comes from German, where it is very popular, Kohl meaning cabbage and rube meaning turnip. It is a member of the brassica family and grows just above the surface of the ground it is grown in. They have a crunchy, crisp texture with a flavour similar to turnips or broccoli stems. They can be eaten in salads or steamed or boiled. They are easy to grown from seed which we can send within the UK.

Kohl rabi have a high Vitamin C level and also contains Vitamin B6, fibre, phosphorous, copper, magnesium and calcium. They also contain goitrogens, which can interfer with iodine upate, so if you have a thyroid condition you should avoid excess quantities.
