Description
This delightful red, medium-sized, seedless grape originated in Canada in 1983 and has a mild and fruity taste.
Whilst similar to the Flame variety, the colour is a deeper red (rather than bright) and tends to be more uniform with a firm skin and crisp texture.
This variety tends to perform well even in dry summers, although it does prefer a drink to loosen the skin before picking. It also performs well in cooler climates with short growing seasons. The fruit stores well.
- Originally from Canada.
- Parentage, Seneca x New York 45910.
- Early-season fruit ripening.
- Good in cooler climates.
- Winter wood ripening is good - so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
- Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur pruning.
- Self fertile.
- Seedless (please note in colder parts of the country they may produce a little seed).
This plant is protected by the Plant Variety Rights. Propagation without a licence is illegal and may lead to prosecution.
