Description
A grape variety that has become extremely popular in UK vineyards, thanks to a combination of the earliness of the fruits' ripening and the fact that fruit left on the vines in years when we have an 'Indian Summer' becomes incredibly sweet.
Due to the earliness of fruit ripening this is an excellent choice of grape for growing outside in more northern gardens. The fruits themselves are medium-sized and golden green in colour, making them also a very attractive table grape. Being high in sugar, this is also an excellent variety for juicing.
- Originally from Germany.
- Parentage: Müller Thurgau x (Madeleine Angevine x Calabresser)
- Early-season fruit ripening (leaving the fruit on the vine for as long as possible will really boost the sugars)
- Winter wood ripening is good - so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
- Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur pruning.
- Self fertile.
- Fruit contains seeds.
