Description
Fuchsia 'Whiteknights Pearl' is a real beauty. Medium-sized single flowers have a pale pink tube and sepals while the corolla is also a delicate pale pink. This free-flowering fuchsia has a upright, vigorous, self-branching, hanging habit, and reaches a height of 48 - 60" (120 - 150 cm).
Looks similar to Mrs W P Wood, Flashlight, Diana Wright, Magellanica molinae, Trendrement, Aiguileette, Whiteknights Blush and Hawkshead.
Bred by John O Wright, UK in 1980. It's parents are magellanica var molinae and magellanica var molinae with fulgens.
- Plant out from late May all through the summer.
- Hardy once established.
- Suitable for potting on or, dependent on time of year, planting straight into the garden.
- Late autumn garden planting should be avoided as the plants will not have time to establish before the winter.
- If grown in containers and left outside all winter they may not prove fully hardy as container growing does not afford the same level of root protection as growing in the ground.
