Description
With its medium-sized double flowers, the tube and sepals white tinged with pink, and the corolla white veined with pink, Fuchsia Annabel has a beauty all its own. Nonetheless, it is a plant with an upright, bushy growth, and is very free flowering, and is an ideal fuchsia to be turned into a standard, showing off those delicate flowers. Reaches a height of 24 - 36" (60 - 90 cm).
Bred by Dr Matthew Ryle, UK in 1977 and named after Normans Mitchinsons wide Ann Isobel Mitchinson. Annabel's parent are Ingram Maid and Nancy Lou.
- Plant out from late May all through the summer.
- Hardy once established.
- Suitable for potting on or, dependent on time of year, planting straight into the garden.
- Late autumn garden planting should be avoided as the plants will not have time to establish before the winter.
- If grown in containers and left outside all winter they may not prove fully hardy as container growing does not afford the same level of root protection as growing in the ground.
