Description
Produces heavy crops of gorgeously sweet figs in August - September. Fast into production, it is not unusual for it to produce fruit in the first season from planting.
In its own right this is a beautiful shrubby tree with large deeply lobed dark green leaves and an interesting twisting and turning branch structure.
- Harvest August - September.
- Self Fertile.
- Best grown in a sunny sheltered position - a South West facing wall or fence would be ideal.
- Restriction of the roots will prevent the tree growing too large and keep it fruitful; so consider either growing in a large container or by making a planting pit - lining the sides of a 3 x 3 x 3 feet (90 x 90 x 90 cm) hole with paving slabs and the base with brick rubble before refilling with soil - and planting into that.
