Description

The False Goatsbeard or Astilbe is a highly attractive clump forming ground cover that is happy in both full sun or partial shade.

Young spring foliage has a pretty bronze tinge to it; as the summer progresses this matures to a dark green tinted red. From approximately mid June the foliage is topped by conical plumes of fluffy flowers in array or rich colours from deep reds, to rich pinks, to pale pinks to white. The flowers are wonderful for use as a cut flower - either fresh or dried.
