To help us continue providing the quality of service we have become known for over fifty years we currently have the following job vacancies...
Greenhouse / Nursery Hand
Duties to include all general nursery/greenhouse work such as pricking out, potting up, watering, seed sowing, weeding, pre-packing for our busy mail order business and more!
- Would suit a keen gardener with a passion for growing who wants to join our small team and work hard!
- Must have some relevant horticultural experience or a keen interest to learn.
- Three days per week, Spring and Summer working hours to include weekend days.
- This at first is a short term position, turning into a permanent long-term position for the correct person.
- Salary £ Negotiable, dependant on experience and ability, but will start on minimum wage.
(This position cannot be combined with other positions we are currently looking to fill)
Packing House / Seedroom
Duties to include carefully packing plants into boxes and completing the relevant paperwork to send them (via post or courier) to ensure quick but accurate dispatches.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that our seedroom is keep well stocked and ensuring good seed rotation and organisation. All our seed packeting is done by hand and, in some instances this includes individually counting seeds!
You will also be required to answer the telephone to take orders and sort out customer queries.
Qualities You Should Posses:
- Exacting attention to detail.
- Be able to work under pressure, both on your own and in a team.
- Be both literate, and numerate.
- Have a polite telephone manner.
- Must have a tidy work ethic.
- Basic IT experience is essential (training will be given for the systems we use).
2-3 days per week (Mon - Thurs) 9am - 4.30pm.
This is a temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent.
