Description
A high yielding variety with vibrant green and large leaves and delicious flavour. This Coriander is delicious, perfect for growing in pots on your window sill or planted in your herb garden for the Summer in a warm sunny position.
Cultivated for more than 3000 years and once considered an aphrodisiac, in the Middle Ages Coriander was used in love potions! The Romans mixed it with cumin and vinegar to make a preserve for meat.
Coriander is an invaluable herb for culinary use and an essential in Mexican and Indian cooking as well as in other regional cuisines.
A member of the carrot family.
- Half hardy annual.
- Reaches 20" (50 cm) tall.
- White flowers June to July.
- Likes a sunny or part shady position.
- Prefers a light but water-retentive soil (although not soggy) out of the wind.
- Can be grown in pots.
- Will produce leaves until the first frosts.
- Some people find its scent to be unpleasant.
