Description

With the 'Chocolate' part of this pretty climber's common name coming from the scent of its flower it is often overlooked that this is also a fruiting plant!

Given support, this will easily grow to 20 - 30 feet (6 - 10 metres) with a similar spread. Early in the Spring beautiful dark purple, almost wax like, flowers cover the vine and give off a scent of chocolate vanilla.

After a good long Summer, purple sausage-shaped fruit are formed. Within the thick skin will be found a lovely creamy white pulp that has a lovely sweet flavour. Whilst partially self fertile, growing several Chocolate Vines will ensure pollination.
