Cherry Trees
Fruiting cherry trees make a fantastic addition to any garden, thanks to their truly stunning late spring blossom display, followed by a crop of equally stunning jewel-like fruits in summer.
Whether you prefer your cherries sour, super-sweet or somewhere in between, our eating and cooking cherry trees will not disappoint as we have endeavoured to select each variety that features within our listings based on our own expert home growing, cooking and eating trials.
If homemade jams, jellies, pies and tarts are your thing, then there's no reason not to invest in a cherry tree for your garden or allotment. We supply a variety of cherry trees that are suitable for cooking (sour), eating (sweet) or both (useful!), including the hugely popular Morello cherry tree variety. Another benefit of growing a cherry tree is, of course, the stunning display of cherry blossom in late spring - a pleasure that is enjoyed by nectar-loving wildlife too!
If you're a bit pushed for space, the good news is that all of our cherry trees for sale are grafted on Colt rootstock - a poor-soil tolerant, semi-dwarf cherry tree rootstock that reduces the tree's maximum growth to around 3-5 metres, or 70-80% of a 'standard' cherry tree height. Many of the cherry trees we grow and sell are also self-fertile, meaning they don't require any pollination partners to produce fruit, although the presence of other cherry trees in the vicinity will help to boost your yield!
Our cherry trees are sold direct from our nursery in Kent, England. All trees are pruned and supplied bare root in the dormant season, or potted in the summer, ready to plant.
If you'd like your cherry tree pruned in a specific fashion, why not call Victoriana directly and we'll be more than happy to help. Likewise, if you need advice about growing your cherry tree, or a recommendation on the best variety to suit your needs and circumstances, then feel free to drop us an email or call our Kent nursery on 01233 740529.
