Description
An old, proven hardy variety that has green stalks tinged with purple red. Stands very well and has an excellent flavour and is very reliable.
Stalks are purple tinged red when blanched. Stands well and has an excellent flavour. High vitamin content.
Excellent for winter soups and of course with cheese and biscuits.
- Sow under protection March - April in modules or small pots. Barely cover the seed.
- Grow on under protection allowing the plants to root out fully and produce a reasonable amount of leaf.
- Plant out 12" - 18" (30 - 45 cm) apart in rows 12" - 18" (30 - 45 cm) apart in late May / early June and after all threat of frost.
- Do not be in too much of a rush to plant out - as premature planting when cold will cause bolting.

- Celery prefers a deep and rich soil.
- Watering shortly before harvest will help your Celery to store for longer.
