Description
Another perennial plant that is fast disappearing from the countryside.
From the clumps of bright green leaves, erect stems rise up and terminate in clusters of pretty bell like yellow flowers. This really is a cheerful Spring flowering plant - and space should be found for a few of these in every garden, whether cultivated or wild area.
Happy to grow in grass and meadow areas (avoid cutting the grass until the flowers have gone over and set seed in early June) they are also perfect for more moist areas such as by ponds - or simply in the ornamental border.
Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
- Flower from March - May.
- Foliage grows to approximately 6" (15 cm) tall. Flower rise to approximately 12" (30 cm) tall.
- Thrive in an open position or part shade.
- Happy in both moist and dry soils.
- Plant 10" (25 cm) apart.
