Description

Based on our obsession with heirloom and heritage tomato varieties, an F1 Hybrid variety has to be pretty good to make it onto our listings! We have to say this is the best new variety of tomato we have seen for years!

With a vigorous habit, 'Tomatoberry' produces heavy crops of bright red almost heart shaped fruits on long trusses. The skin has a a good crunch to it (but not too thick or firm) and the flesh inside is juicy and very sweet. A little bit too large to be described as a Cherry tomato, this is the texture and flavour you get. It is disease and cracking resistant .Great for salads or putting a few in your lunch box.

Produced by Tokita Seed Company in Japan in 2007, it won 3rd prize for innovation at Fruit Logistica show in Berlin 2008.

This is an indeterminate variety and best grown as a cordon (vine).
For best yields and size of fruit - stop at 6th truss if growing under protection (4th outside).
Whilst the best crops will be grown under protection, this variety can also be grown outside.
