Description
To our knowledge, this is the only true 'black' cherry tomato there is, that said, the fruits are actually more of a deep purple-brown than black in colour.
Extremely heavy cropping, the large trusses bear masses of fruits around 1" (2.5 cm) in diameter. With a real 'burst in the mouth' sensation, the flavour of these is quite something, sweet, rich and juicy!
We can't say enough good things about this variety, not only for its taste and colour interest but also as it has proven to have a fair amount of resistance to blight and other disease issues.
First cultivated by Vince Sapp, co-founder of Tomato Grower's Supply Company from USA in 2003.
- This is an indeterminate variety and best grown as a cordon (vine).
- For best yields and size of fruit, stop at 6th truss if growing under protection (4th outside).
- Whilst the best crops will be grown under protection, this variety can also be grown outside.
